Tutto Gusto Wine Celler: A haven for travelers
It's six a.m. you're all packed and ready to head to the airport, if you're like me you've got the essentials in your carry-on, music, headphones, books, snacks, and an auto injector. The snacks are the most important part in my opinion. Since airline food is never really safe for me (and lets me be honest a little expensive) I always try an bring my own sandwiches. So fast forward through Ottawa, hour layover in Montreal and then a three hour flight to Florida those sandwiches were long gone. After de-boarding the plane, waiting for luggage, finding our Disney Bus and actually getting on the bus and leaving the airport, I was about ready to eat my shoe. After we checked into our hotel and got settled our first priority was food. We decided to head to EPCOT. Firstly it was absolutely amazing to go from -20 snowy Ottawa to the beautiful 30 degrees EPCOT standing in front of the "big ball" We headed straight to the word pavilions to try and find somewhere to eat. We finally found an immediate availability in the Italy pavilion at Tutto Gusto Wine Celler. Tutto Gusto is a small restaurant that resembles an Italian wine cellar, small and quaint this seemed like the perfect place to eat.
After consulting the menu we decided that this was the place to eat. I informed the front of staff of my food allergies and she said someone would be out to see me right away. After being seated and getting drinks the manager came and talked with us. I told him what I was thinking of eating and he assured me it would be safe, that there are no nuts in the kitchen. He then told me the bread was most likely not safe since it wasn't made in house, and he was not sure what it may have come into contact with. The desserts were also possibly not safe since they were also not made in house. I was told that they have gluten free options in both departments
The best part of this restaurant was the portion sizes. I had a plate full of lasagna that was the most mouth watering, delicious dish of pasta I have ever had. After a day of travel it was the perfect way to start our Disney vacation. Our server was incredibly helpful with all of our dietary questions and concerns. She was very knowledgeable and when she couldn't answer a question such as dessert inquires she went directly to the source, the chef to confirm,
Overall I give Tutto Gusto an 8/10, it was very clean, the manger, server, and cooking staff worked together to ensure a safe meal for my food allergies. They seemed knowledgeable of my dietary needs as well as what could be dangerous from outside foods. They were very accommodating as well understanding substitutions for my needs. This restaurant will always have a special place on my Disney Vacation list since it was such a haven from a long day of traveling.
