Hi!

I have a lot of questions about a lot of things, lets find some answers together shall we?

Rose and Crown Pub: Dinner with a Pint.

Rose and Crown Pub: Dinner with a Pint.

Finding the perfect place to view the fireworks in Disney's EPCOT is an on going battle of opinion, everyone has a favorite place to watch the big ball light up. My mother, a Disney veteran from years of travel with and without kids has her favorite spot and it so happens to be one the best restaurants in the Pavilion village. Located in the United Kingdom, the Rose and Crown Pub is near perfect replicant of a UK pub.

I've had two very different experiences at this fantastic Disney restaurant. My first time, was just over three years ago. I was weary from eating there because of the non committal answers I received from the front of house staff. They were totally unsure about the oils, and didn't know who to ask to find out for sure. When we got our server she said they weren't even sure what kind of fish was in the fish and chips. After hearing that much unease I asked if I could speak with the chef. When the chef should up, he seemed a little annoyed with my questions but ultimately  assured me my dinner choice was 100% safe. I felt as if I didn't have full range of the menu or security in the much of it. So when I went back last year, I had a sour taste in my mouth.

But Boy were all my worries quickly pushed completely out of my mind. We booked online ahead of time so they would have my allergies ahead of time. When we arrived, they immediately  talked with me about my food allergies. Our server asked a few questions about what I was allergic too how bad it was and if I could be around other tables who were eating it (which I have never been asked before) After we spoke and  had a chance to look at the menu, she said she would have the chef come out and talk about my choice. When he came out, he was more then willing to help me feel comfortable with my choices. He assured me the bread was made on site and so were most of the desserts. After speaking with the chef, I felt more relieved then I did three years ago.

Over all, I was so happy to admit that I was wrong about this restaurant. I felt more then comfortable eating there with staff reassuring and so understanding of the dangers of cross contamination, as well as  the proximity of allergens around then most restaurant in EPCOT. The staff was more then helpful, while assuring me about desserts and breads, and other menu choices. It was so refreshing to see a restaurant staff go out of their way to ensure we had a a fantastic meal. We had the opportunity to eat on the terrace that over looks the water, it was the most perfect, beautiful setting to eat and watch fireworks.

I also I had the best night of non eating but casual drinks with my SO at the Rose and Crown Pub. The relaxed environment and friendly staff, not to mention the abundance of amazing people you'll find. It is a great place to escape the heat and crowds and have a nice drink.

I would suggest this restaurant for a number of people. First, it is in my opinion the best place to watch the fireworks at EPCOT. The are very food allergy friendly to peanut, tree nut, egg, and gluten allergies from what I could tell from my experience.  They accommodated any substitutes I had to make with out a blink of an eye. I would suggest informing them of any dietary issues before going to the restaurant, I believe that is where we went wrong before.  I felt safe and comfortable in an unbelievably amazing environment. I would suggest this restaurant to friends or couples looking for a  late snack or a large groups looking to share a pint with good friends.

So cheers to friends and good food.
